Why Tax Tiles Are Your Best Friend
I lean Tax over Utilities almost every time, and it's not because Tax pays better for points. It's the neighbourhood. Those Tax spaces sit close to railroads and Chance, which means misses aren't dead turns. You whiff the Tax by a couple squares and you can still land on a railroad for tournament progress, or pull a Chance that nudges you into something useful. Utilities don't usually give you that same "soft landing." They can feel isolated, and isolation is expensive when you're rolling with juice.
When to Turn the Multiplier Up
Don't sit on max multiplier like it's a personality trait. Keep it low in the boring stretches where you're just chewing through properties and nothing's lined up. Then, once you're in that part of the lap where good tiles cluster, start stepping it up. A lot of players save their bigger multipliers for the run after you pass Go to Jail, because the approach toward those Tax spaces near GO can be a sweet setup. You're not trying to be clever every roll. You're trying to be patient until the board hands you a window.
Keeping Dice While Still Finishing Milestones
The weird part of Fortune Walk is that it rewards restraint. You can absolutely finish it while protecting your stash, but you've gotta stop chasing every "maybe." If you're not in range of Tax, railroad, or a Chance that can sling you forward, keep it calm and take the small rolls. When the setup looks right, that's when you press.
